Boycott Carrier Air Conditioning Company - Clinton's NAFTA Still Destroying American Jobs and Families

Posted by Mike Askins on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at 4:55pm.

All Career Republican and Democrat Politicians support NAFTA and American Job LossGovernment and big business in 2016 are continuing their open assault on manufacturing jobs in America. NAFTA has to be one of the worst governmental results of any Western nation on the planet. Workers lives are now conveniently reduced to, "it's a business decision."

If that is the case, then the American people also need to make a "business decision" to boycott companies like Carrier Air Conditioning (United Technologies) who announced yesterday that they are moving their manufacturing and distribution facilities outside of the U.S. to Monterrey Mexico but intend to import their cheaply made foreign products at greater profits back into the U.S. while avoiding Tariffs all thanks to NAFTA.

Approximately 2100 American jobs will be eliminated affecting workers, their families and the community at large. You would think that any FREE TRADE legislation would include long term, livable unemployment compensation and health insurance coverage to prevent families from immediate economic hardships as well as retraining assistance so that workers can upgrade their skill sets.

While business leaders and establishment Politicians decry "socialism" they are writing lopsided corporate welfare laws that award multi-national corporations with windfall style profits at the cost and loss of the working class. Contrary to popular belief and unlike a common household appliance, these disenfranchised workers simply can't be unplugged, but that is exactly what Federal Free Trade treaties written by multi-national corporations and establishment politicians are doing to the working class, regardless of borders.

Since the Presidency of Bill Clinton and his signing into law the first of many grotesquely anti-American middle class trade bills or NAFTA, followed by his WTO authorization to allow China in the WTO which culminated in the loss of millions of quality jobs under the Bush administration, the American middle class worker has found themselves increasingly abandoned by both Federal political parties. Internationally, many of the recipient nations of outsourced American jobs have seen no improvement in their poverty levels, as "Free" trade is designed to exploit cheap labor regardless of nationality. Sadly a whole host of social problems have emerged across the U.S. including an epidemic of suicide as fully disenfranchised, and chronically under-employed Americans try and deal with the corporate takeover of Washington D.C.

If Obama's TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) gets fast tracked, America will continue to shed middle class manufacturing jobs and destroy an untold number of lives in the process. Comparatively speaking, we are all aware of the unspeakable images of middle east terrorists beheading their victims and are shocked, but why are we not shocked to learn that a far greater number of lives have been lost as a direct result reckless Federal trade legislation? Perhaps big media is part of the new neo-government that is by, for and of big business? Lincoln once said a house divided against itself can not stand and the same can be said about businesses divided against the working class.

The really good news is this year you have an important political choice to make, one that will have lasting consequences. Without naming names, we finally have 2 candidates from both sides of the aisle that appear to be authentic and independent and focused on the people. This might be a rare chance at gaining back our collective middle class voices and God only knows that won't happen if we continue to elect "more of the same" Super PAC" funded establishment politicians. Donald Trump indicated that he will "Tear up NAFTA" if elected. One could only hope.

It is time to end all "Free Trade" agreements like NAFTA and replace them with "Fair Trade" agreements or referendums that are voted upon during general elections. This way people can retain their collective democratic voices concerning potentially life altering trade legislation. Ross Perot you were right. The opinions are my own.
